Custom Compliance and Reporting Solution to Assist Cook County with EECBG Management.
The County Department of Environmental Control (DEC) was tasked with administering the $12.6 Million Cook County Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant in 2009. This grant had many layers of federal compliance and reporting requirements to be met by Cook County and over 55 sub-recipients. With limited time and resources available, the DEC needed a method to track, process and manage the complex EECBG program.
AKT Peerless designed a custom compliance and reporting solution to assist Cook County with EECBG program management. This included a combination of AKT Peerless staff support and the design of a multi-user web portal solution to centralize all sub-recipient reporting. After attending an online training webinar, program participants are able to log onto the web portal and complete their federal reporting requirements each month, including project metrics, financial information and compliance document submissions. All data is securely stored in the cloud, where program managers were able to run a variety of reports on the submitted data. This allows the DEC to effectively handle the volume of sub- recipient reporting and aids in program management as a whole.
The combination of staff support and the web portal software solution ensured projects were meeting proposed schedules, compliance documents were accurate and federal reporting was completed and met deadlines.
