Bret Stuntz, AKT Peerless’ Vice President for Economic Development, has been invited to participate on a panel discussion at the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) National Development Finance Summit in Atlanta, GA on November 16th, 2017. Bret will be a contributor to the panel discussion titled “Groundbreaking Mixed-Use Developments”, where he will detail the many successes surrounding the exciting Orleans Landing redevelopment in Detroit, MI.

Orleans Landing is a $61 million residential and retail project in Detroit’s East Riverfront District. East Riverfront adjoins Detroit’s Central Business District, and its waterfront is transitioning away from centuries of heavy industry into a vibrant, new mixed-use development and green space. “I’m excited to be able to highlight the significance of the Orleans Landing project as a successful example of using multi-layered, public-private partnerships to spur economic development,” says Bret. “Equally exciting is the opportunity to discuss Detroit’s development with a national audience.”

Bret’s fingerprints can be found on many successful redevelopment projects. His 20 years of consulting experience on economic development projects span everything from real estate finance, development, and planning to successfully completing complicated, multi-faceted brownfield redevelopment initiatives that often involve multiple properties and stakeholders. Bret’s skills at evaluating the potential environmental risks associated with commercial, industrial and residential properties, at identifying and qualifying economic development incentives for redevelopment projects that often make them viable, and at navigating local, state, and federal environmental laws governing such sites make him a great addition to this panel discussion.

Bret is based in the Detroit office of AKT Peerless and can be reached at 313-962-9353 or via email at stuntzb@aktpeerless.com.
