We are pleased to share that the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) board recently approved an Act 381 Work Plan for Brownfield Tax Increment Financing (TIF) support for the Cambria @ the Ashton project in Detroit, Michigan. The MSF board approved $8.5 million in Brownfield TIF support for the project, which is an exciting mixed-use new construction and rehab development on the western edge of the downtown.

AKT Peerless has served as a proud project partner, having completed all environmental due diligence, preparing applications for Brownfield TIF support, and working to secure tax abatements for the project.

“Throughout our 30 years of doing business, the AKT Peerless team has logged a significant number of key accomplishments in Detroit,” said Anthony Kashat, Principal & Co-Founder of AKT Peerless Environmental Services. “As a super-fan of Detroit, I’m extremely proud of our history here, and Cambria @ the Ashton is another shining example of how our public-private partnerships continue to have a positive impact on the ongoing transformation of this amazing city.”

The project is expected to break ground in June of 2019 and should be completed by January of 2020.
